On the Trail of Fleischmann’s Parsnip
The tour is a real treat for botanists and plant lovers alike. Are you already familiar with Fleischmann’s parsnip? We invite you to join us for a walk from the nearby Ljubljana Botanical Garden to the top of the Castle Hill, during which experts will present the diversity of the plant world.
What to Expect
Fleischmann’s parsnip is a plant discovered by Andrej Fleischmann on the Castle Hill in the 19th century. Unfortunately, it is no longer found growing wild in the natural environment, but it does still grow in two places: in the Botanical Garden of the University of Ljubljana and at a regrowing site on the Castle Hill. There is now an educational trail between the two institutions, with the two growing sites serving as the starting and ending points of a fascinating journey through the plant world.
