Ljubljana castle parking area

The Castle Hill is a green oasis above our city. The Ljubljana Castle is a holder of the Green Key certificate and has been awarded the label Slovenia Green Attraction. We therefore invite visitors to choose a sustainable way to access the Ljubljana Castle, such as the funicular or the Urban electric train. Alternatively, visitors are encouraged to come to the Ljubljana Castle on foot or by bicycle using one of the many footpaths. All of the access options can be found at this link. For event organisers, we also provide bus transportation in cooperation with Ljubljana Passenger Transport.
If you nonetheless come to the Castle Park by car, there is a paid Ljubljana Castle parking area with 40 parking spaces in this area. One of the parking spaces is intended for physically challenged or disabled persons, and two parking spaces are equipped with an electric charging station for electric vehicles.

Parking Area Operating and Access Hours

The parking area is open every day of the year from 00:00 to 24:00.
Access to the parking area is possible when the barrier on the road leading to the castle (Cesta slovenskih kmečkih uporov) is raised, which is between 9:00 am and 11:00 pm. It is also possible to pay the parking fee and exit the parking area after this time, as the barrier on the road Cesta slovenskih kmečkih uporov rises automatically when exiting after 11:00 pm.
