Exhibition of Audience Award at the 35th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts
Sreda v sredo (SVS)
from 05. Jun to 12. Oct 2025, from 9:00 to 20:00, “S” Gallery, Ljubljana Castle
The Sreda v sredo (SVS) collective – Žiga Artnak (1986), Urban Cerjak (1986), Matic Flajs (1994) – was founded in 2019. What began as an informal weekly gathering of friends exploring artistic techniques and creative concepts gradually developed into a group with a clear identity. In the basement of one of the three Dukič apartment blocks (1935) in the heart of Ljubljana, the members of the group converted a disused boiler room into a printmaking studio, following a 'Do It Together' approach, where they work alone or with guests primarily in the intaglio printmaking techniques.
As part of the 35th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts, they opened their doors every Friday between 3 to 6 pm as an official venue of the Biennale of Graphic Arts and at the same time as a relaxed workplace and meeting place. In 17 meetings, they hosted various artists and more than 200 visitors from Belgium, Germany, France, Switzerland, Poland, Australia, Slovakia, India and Romania. Together they produced more than 20 graphic works.
The exhibition at the »S« Gallery at Ljubljana Castle presents the practice of the members of the collective to date, which springs from their individual artistic ambitions, which are more easily realised through collaboration within the artistic community. Featuring more than 40 prints, several matrices and a selection of graphic works created by the artists who were hosted in the workshop by the members during its time, the exhibition aims to show the working methods of a self-organised community of artists, whose goal is continuous artistic development, the exploration of intaglio techniques, collaboration and networking with other artists in the field of contemporary printmaking, as well as the setting up of the production conditions necessary for such activity.
Exhibiting artists: SVS (Žiga Artnak, Urban Cerjak and Matic Flajs), and guests: Filip Burburan, Jure Engelsberger, Martin Fujan, Marko Gavez, Petja Kocet, David Krančan, Peter Kuntarič, Matija Medved, Maja Poljanc, Tereza Prepadnik, Valentin Radulovič and Hana Stupica.
