Ljubljana Castle Jazz Club presents Amala, a band which celebrates its 30th anniversary and pays tribute to music that breathes, feels and connects. Under the leadership of Imer Traje Brizani, it has been operating since 1996 and carries the wealth of Roma heritage, bravely intertwining it with various musical genres, creating a unique sound full of energy and sincerity. The Pristina-born composer, university graduate musicologist, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, arranger and pedagogue Imer Traja Brizani is synonymous with the movement in contemporary Roma music culture. This time, he will combine Roma tradition with flamenco and jazz improvisation and the unique artistic expressions of the younger and middle generation of musical authors. His music inspires with a characteristic sincerity that stems from the Roma tradition and significantly enriches Slovenian and international musical creativity. Romani music is characterized by temperament and rhythmic and improvisational richness, which Brizani builds on with his own unique approach – combining Romani music and jazz, thus creating a unique authorial poetics.

On the day of the concert, tickets can be purchased at the Entrance Pavilion and the lower funicular station until 8.45 pm. The concert ticket includes a return journey on the funicular, which operates until 11.00 pm on the day of the concert.
