PikniKoncert: Noreia
PikniKoncert is a family gathering with good music, food and drink. PikniKoncert is a different way to spend free time, as it offers a quality cultural experience combined with relaxed socialising and ecological awareness.
After several successful festival summers in Tivoli Park, Piknikoncerts have been taking place on the castle plateau for the last few summers, in the Defensive Moat beneath the walls of the Ljubljana Castle. Escape the summer heat and make your way to the Ljubljana Castle in the late afternoon. Spread out a picnic blanket, enjoy a snack and relax while listening to ethnic and folk concerts. Bring blankets and full picnic baskets. Invite your friends and don’t forget the children, toys and dogs, as well as lots of positive energy, so that we can all enjoy ourselves together!
In the case of bad weather, the event will be postponed or cancelled.
We recommend using the funicular to attend the event.
NOREIA
Noreia is a six-member band of experienced musicians who play traditional Irish, Scottish and Breton melodies, but not in a completely traditional way. Recently, the band has been actively combining the “Celtic” tradition with their own heritage – Slovenian folk music – and creating their own compositions, giving their music a unique and distinctive sound.
Four years after the release of their studio album Viže (Songs), and following two “live” albums – Kilt Roberta Burnsa (Robert Burns’ Kilt, 2022) and Nova Keltika (New Celtic, 2023) – the Slovenian ethno band Noreia returns with a fresh release. Setev (Sowing) represents a new creative wind in the development of the band, opening the door wide to transition. From sadness to joy, from madness to inner peace, through epic fantasy landscapes to magic in the flames of the hearth.
