CANCELLATIONS In the event of rain or a bad weather forecast, screenings will be cancelled. Replacement screenings will only be held if an avant-premiere is cancelled: in that case, the cancelled film can be seen at one of three additional screenings at Kinodvor from August 3.
Tickets for a cancelled screening (except for the avant-premiere) can be exchanged for: - tickets to any other screening of Film Under the Stars (except for avant-premieres): available at the box offices at the Ljubljana Castle Entrance Pavilion and the Lower Funicular Station; - cash refund: available at the point of purchase by 25 August 2025. After this date, tickets cannot be refunded.
Tickets for cancelled avant-premieres can be exchanged for: - tickets to one of the three additional film screenings at Kinodvor. The additional screening dates will be published at www.kinodvor.org/spored the day after the originally scheduled screening at Ljubljana Castle. Tickets will be available for exchange or purchase from 3rd August at the Kinodvor box office. (Please note: the Kinodvor auditorium seats 188, while the Castle courtyard accommodates 960). - cash refund: available at the point of purchase by 25 August 2025. ACCESS TO THE CASTLE
With the slogan LET'S GO UNDER THE STARS, we invite guests to use one of the sustainable ways of getting to the castle, namely: - a ride on the funicular railway - travelling on a methane-powered bus
Sports enthusiasts can also test their mettle by cycling to the castle, while those who like evening walks can take a stroll on one of the footpaths leading to the castle.
We recommend that when purchasing a ticket for a film of your choice, you also choose to buy a funicular or bus ticket at a reduced price of €4.50. You get to decide on the spot which transport to choose depending on the level of occupancy of the funicular and the bus. You may also buy a one-way ticket at a reduced price of €2.30.
This special ticket price is only available online when purchasing a Film Under the Stars ticket at the same time. It can be purchased at the ticket offices of the lower funicular station and the Entry Pavilion in front of the castle entrance at any time between 09:00 and 21:30.
For cars, Ljubljana Castle has a public paid car park with only 40 parking spaces, one of which is reserved for persons with reduced mobility.
Parking on the road leading to the castle (Cesta slovenskih kmečkih uporov) is not permitted. The pavement is only for visitors arriving on foot, not for car parking. This is to ensure the safe arrival and departure of all visitors to Film Under the Stars.
Bus stop
The bus stop for getting to Ljubljana Castle is the LPP station Lutkovno gledališče (Krekov trg). When leaving the castle, buses depart from the Ljubljana Castle car park.
Timetable: - the funicular operates continuously for 30 minutes after the end of the film, - bus:
o journeys to the castle: from 20:00 to 21:15 every 15 minutes o journeys from the castle: 30 minutes after the end of the event
