Castle Festive Fair

In order to conjure up a beautiful festive atmosphere for our many visitors, at the Ljubljana Castle in December we are preparing a series of diverse events: concerts at the Ljubljana Castle Jazz Club, a festive dance, performances for children, a Christmas Mass, a nativity scene, exhibitions, and much more.

All of these events and the lively atmosphere of the castle gleaming in its festive decorations will be enhanced by a Festive Fair in the Castle Courtyard. The carefully selected offer of festive cuisine and hot drinks, the enticing scent of oranges, hot chocolate, cinnamon and many other spices, a festive line of products from the Castle Shop, and the pleasant surroundings will convince you that the festive atmosphere above the city is something special and worth experiencing.

In the lustre of the festive decorations in the Castle Courtyard, a special story will come to life on the facade of the Estates Hall. It is the story of a dragon, the guardian of the city of Ljubljana, who did battle with the brave knight George and disappeared into the underworld. You are warmly invited to view this audiovisual attraction.
Since the most beautiful view of the capital adorned with its festive decorations opens up from the Viewing Tower, we recommend that you conclude your visit of the Ljubljana Castle there. Before ascending the tower, stop by the Lower Lapidarium, find the dragon selfie corner and make a wish for something nice in the upcoming year.
