Anja Bukovec

Anja Bukovec is an internationally renowned classical violinist. She is a superb musician with a unique talent for combining and intertwining classical, pop, ethno and film music in a high quality way, placing her at the very peak of contemporary progressive artists.

In addition to her technical perfection, she is distinguished by a recognisable style, convincing interpretation and an openness in her contact with the audience. Since completing her studies in Ljubljana, Prague, Cologne and Vienna, Anja has appeared as a soloist, won international awards and inspired audiences around the world. Her albums, such as Gemini, Follow, Chameleon, and the Violin Opus of Janez Matičič, have topped the popular charts and are among the best-selling classical albums in Slovenia. Anja has collaborated with the Alban Berg Quartet, Igor Ozim, En Shao, Uroš Lajovic, Marko Letonja, Anton Nanut and multiple BAFTA winner Christopher Gunning, as well as with top pop and rock performers such as Die Fantastichen 4, Marla Glen, Marquie and Jeff Healey. She has also had the honour of presenting an exclusive performance for the British Queen Elizabeth II. Anja Bukovec plays on the violin katharine Abbuehl.
