As part of the 15th Castle Days, on Saturday we will pay tribute to the most recognisable symbol of Ljubljana – the dragon. The Ljubljana dragon is more than just a mythological creature – it is part of the cultural heritage and history of our city. Dragon Day is an opportunity to connect with this rich tradition, which encompasses the legends, myths and stories that have shaped Ljubljana over the centuries and are also known throughout the world.
For one day, the Castle Courtyard will become a world where imagination comes to life and conveys you to the kingdom of the dragon! In addition to various stage performances, juggling performances and fire shows, there will also be a diverse accompanying programme for the whole family, including a range of movement and creative workshops, as well as fun activities for everyone. This year, Dragon Day will be marked by dance, movement and drums. It will be more lively than ever before, as we are expecting a very special guest from the Far East – a Chinese dragon.

CHOOSE A SUSTAINABLE WAY TO GET TO THE CASTLE DAYS To get to the event, we recommend using the funicular railway, the well-maintained footpaths leading to the Ljubljana Castle, or the Urban electric train.
During the Castle Days, a unified reduced return ticket price will be available for the funicular railway.
On Sunday, it will not be possible to park in the castle parking area, as it will serve as a venue for part of the medieval programme.
