The band Leni Kravac made their mark with the Balkan tour of the capitals Ljubljana, Zagreb and Belgrade, where they shot the video for the song Balconized and announcing the album with the same name in 2016. Since then they’ve played in front of 10000 people in France, made Estonians dance to Balkan music at Talinn Music Week, played for Balcony tv Bratislava, appeared on the leading radio show in the country playing balkanized versions of Christmas songs and made hairy and bearded Harley Davidson bikers get their butts shaking. Their mix of genres ranging from drum and bass, funk, hip hop, jazz, rock and metal and mixing it with Balkan sound got the name “alter turbo-folk” which sounds exaclty as nuts as it is. It’s like mixing Dubioza Kolektiv, Gogol Bordello and Balkan brass orchestras.
They’ve won 2 film awards for the video “Pite ispod sača”, which was widely accepted as the only correct way to make a proper Balkan pita.
In 2023 they are working on new material, adding more tour dates around Europe and drinking a lot of rakija.
The Ljubljana Castle Jazz Club is open from 7.00 pm to 11.00 pm. Live music commences at 8.00 pm.
