Marko Hatlak BAND

The musical autumn at the Ljubljana Castle brings a concert cycle by Marko Hatlak, who, along with his guests, will take us through a diverse range of musical creativity over four evenings. From Kapobanda to a solo concert, and from the Marko Hatlak Band to FUNtango with special guest Iztok Mlakar. With a humorous note, Marko Hatlak tells stories about the songs that are heard, some of which he also spices up with singing. He draws everyone present into musical collaboration, so that for some tunes the whole venue beats in live rhythms. With an original interpretation of each and every song, regardless of style, Marko Hatlak evokes an emotionally deep and lively experience in the audience.

With his new project Marko Hatlak BAND, Marko Hatlak abandons himself to the genres of funk, pop, Latin and jazz. The inspiration he finds in Jamiroquai, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Phil Collins, Michael Camille and Prince, as well as in the gentle ballads of the giants of rock music, is translated into energetic, fun and rhythmic music, full of dance and youth. From the very beginning of his concert career, accordionist Marko Hatlak has had a passion for diverse music genres, from classical and contemporary music to tango and ethno, and he is now adding to this broad selection. In the project Marko Hatlak BAND, he presents himself in a new performance role, as an accordionist and singer, and as the composer of a number of compositions. The music is band-oriented, virtuoso and distinctively rhythmic. Marko Hatlak has brought together some of the top Slovenian musicians, who, performing on drums, percussion, bass, keyboards and violin, inspire him with their work, their virtuosity, the creative field from which they originate, and their positive charge. The stage chemistry between the performers is reflected in excellent arrangements of well-known compositions by their role models. Special emphasis is placed on Hatlak’s attractive original compositions, while the musical dialogue between the members of the band is humorous and playful. In addition to their musical energy, the group fronted by Mark Hatlak successfully combines sophistication and explosiveness.
