“You’ve Got That Swing” is a project devoted to swing music, especially the music created and played two of the greats: Benny Goodman and Lionel Hampton. Partially in more modern arrangements and with a lively, virtuoso programme, the concert, which is accompanied by commentary from the leader of the band, guides listeners through this period of jazz. Jazz Passengers is a more or less variable ensemble led by Austrian bassist, Eddie Louis, who each month delves into one of the chapters of jazz and introduces it anew to a wide audience, with the aim of attracting new listeners to jazz as well as revitalising established listeners. With the concept “Tribute to Jazz” and thematic concerts dedicated to important jazz musicians, composers and styles, the group has been thrilling audiences and enriching cultural events in Austria and further afield for more than eight years. It performed in its Austrian-Slovenian-Serbian-Hungarian configuration for the first time in 2013. The enthusiastic audience response convinced them that it is a project worth continuing, and the present concert is part of their now almost traditional winter tour.
