PikniKoncert: BUH

PikniKoncert is a family gathering with good music, food and drinks. PikniKoncert is a different way of spending free time, as it offers a quality cultural experience along with relaxed socialising and ecological awareness.
After two successful summer festivals in Tivoli Park, this year will also feature concerts on the castle plateau, in the castle moat beside the walls of the Ljubljana Castle. During the summer months, we invite you to escape the summer heat on Thursday afternoons (and, exceptionally, on one Friday afternoon), and make your way to Tivoli Park, under the pine trees near the Plečnik Promenade, or to the Ljubljana Castle. Lay out a picnic blanket, relax and enjoy a bite to eat while listening to ethno and folk concerts. Excellent music will be provided, featuring sounds from all over the world, with traditional instruments and various singing techniques. Bring blankets and full picnic baskets, invite your friends, don’t forget children, toys and dogs, as well as a healthy dose of positive energy, so that we can all have a great time together.

On Friday, the concert will feature the completely fresh original band of multi-instrumentalist Uroš Buh, a native of Ljubljana who enriches numerous Slovenian bands as a drummer and vocalist. Particular mention should be made of his work with Zaklonišče prepeva, Same babe, Natriletno kolobarjenje s praho, Relight, Boštjan Gombač and Kradljivci časa. On this occasion, however, he has decided to take centre stage himself. He brings with him the extraordinary musicians with whom he recorded ten new songs in the studio Lotos Music in Šentjernej. In the autumn of 2017, the band BUH launched its first single and video Lovim dež, while in June last year the record label Celinka released the band’s debut album of ten songs, all of which feature Uroš Buh’s original lyrics, music and arrangements, while he is also the lead vocalist. The album was mixed in Croatia (Studio Kramasonik) under the direction of the master of analogue production Hrvoje Nikšić, while mastering was overseen by Andy Jackson from Tube Mastering in London, who is the main producer of Pink Floyd and David Gilmour. BUH’s album enjoyed an excellent reception among critics, and was presented live in its entirety for the first time at the festivals Godibodi at the Ljubljana Castle and Lent in Maribor, as well as at several local performances. As an interesting aside, we should mention that, as well as being released as a CD, the album also came out in a boutique, hand-signed vinyl version: a double LP with one disc in Slovenian and the other in English.
