PIKNIKONCERT: Čedahuči

10. Aug from 18:00, Moat, Ljubljana Castle

PikniKoncert is a family gathering with good music, food and drinks, and at the same time a different way of spending leisure time, with the experience of quality culture intertwining with relaxed socialising and ecological awareness.

After two successful festival summers in Tivoli Park, this year the concerts are spreading to the Castle plateau, beside the walls of the Ljubljana Castle in the moat.

In the summer months, on Thursday afternoons and one Friday afternoon, you are invited to escape from the summer heat to Tivoli Park (under the pine trees near the Tivoli Promenade) and to the Ljubljana Castle. Lay out a blanket on the grass and have a bite to eat while listening to concerts of ethno and folk music. The excellent music from all over the world will include traditional instruments and various singing techniques. Bring full picnic baskets, blankets and toys, as well as children, friends and dogs, and join us for a great time!

On Friday 10 August, the band Čedahuči will perform. It was founded in 2012, when it presented itself to the public with an extended play record (EP) containing five songs that were exceptionally well received by both local and national radio stations and by listeners. In the following years, the band members have been almost completely replaced, and the line-up expands or contracts according to the concert situation in which they find themselves. The members of Čedahuči create original music in Slovenian. After their first record, they released a second, longer album entitled Severnica (The North Star, Stories of Departure), and this year they are planning their next release entitled Svetilnik (Lighthouse). As guests at various events and festivals, they have performed throughout almost all of Slovenia, including within the framework of the tour Gala Gjurina and the Cantabile Symphony Orchestra, and at independent concerts at venues ranging from Cankarjev Dom and festival halls, to intimate music evenings in the rooms not much bigger than a living room.

PikniKoncert is organised by the House of Children and Art in cooperation with Tourism Ljubljana and the Ljubljana Castle. The programmes of the House of Children and Art are co-financed by the City of Ljubljana.

We recommend using the funicluar railway to attend the event.
