PikniKoncert: tAman

PikniKoncert is a family gathering with good music, food and drinks. PikniKoncert is a different way of spending free time, as it offers a quality cultural experience along with relaxed socialising and ecological awareness.
After two successful summer festivals in Tivoli Park, this year will also feature concerts on the castle plateau, in the castle moat beside the walls of the Ljubljana Castle. During the summer months, we invite you to escape the summer heat on Thursday afternoons (and, exceptionally, on one Friday afternoon), and make your way to Tivoli Park, under the pine trees near the Plečnik Promenade, or to the Ljubljana Castle. Lay out a picnic blanket, relax and enjoy a bite to eat while listening to ethno and folk concerts. Excellent music will be provided, featuring sounds from all over the world, with traditional instruments and various singing techniques. Bring blankets and full picnic baskets, invite your friends, don’t forget children, toys and dogs, as well as a healthy dose of positive energy, so that we can all have a great time together.

On Thursday, after two years of silence, the band tAman will return to the stage with a fresh repertoire, expanded to the field of traditional music “from Vardar to Triglav”. With the explosive drumming of Marjan Stanić, the unique bass playing of Nino de Gleria, the creative guitar style of Luka Ropret, and the charismatic female duo of Jelena Ždrale and Maida Džinić on the front with violin and vocals, on their first album tAman, released in 2016, they reworked Bosnian sevdalinka and Macedonian traditional song in their own unique way. With their superb knowledge and their broad outlook on music, they have traditionally approached the urban, transforming melancholy into optimism and creating a new “view-listening” of songs that we have heard many times. With their energetic performance, tAman animates even the static listener, moves even the cold-hearted to tears, and always surprises on stage with their innovation, creativity and spontaneity. They have thrilled us at Cankarjev dom at the festival Druga godba, on the roof of LGL, in Menza pri koritu at Metelkova, at the festivals Nights in Ljubljana Old Town and Praznik glasbe, as well as at concerts in the republics of former Yugoslavia.

 

In the case of rain, the concert will be postponed. The cancellation and the new concert date will be announced on the websites www.ljubljanskigrad.si, and www.hisaotrok.si as well as on facebook.com/ljubljanacastle.com and facebook.com/hisaotrokinumetnosti.
