Seydou Yoni Kouyate, a musician from Côte d’Ivoire, is coming to the stage of the Jazz Club Ljubljana Castle. He plays the kora (a 21-string West African harp), keyboards, percussion and balafon, and is also a vocalist.
Born into a traditional African musical family, Seydou’s mother is a singer and dancer, while his father is a guitarist. At the age of 17, he left his native Côte d’Ivoire for Bamako, the musical heart of West Africa, where he developed his unique musical style on the kora and keyboards.
Moving effortlessly between centuries-old musical traditions and contemporary urban African music, Seydou combines a rich heritage with a modern sound. Since 2022, he has been a member of the ensemble of legendary Malian singer Salif Keita, while his growing international profile points towards a promising solo career. He will be joined on stage by a line-up of outstanding Slovenian musicians.

On the day of the concert, tickets can be purchased at the Entrance Pavilion and the lower funicular station until 8.45 pm. The concert ticket includes a return journey on the funicular, which operates until 11.00 pm on the day of the concert.
