Ljubljana Castle Jazz Club presents two blues bands, Sunnysiders from Croatia and a young blues rock band Stone Head from Slovenia.
Sunnysiders was founded as an original blues duo by singer, guitarist, organist and composer Boris Hrepić Hrepa, better known as bassist and co-founder of Daleka obale, and singer and guitarist Antonija Vrgoč Rola. In 2011, they represented Croatia at the 27th International Blues Challenge in Memphis USA, the world's largest blues competition, and made it to the semi-finals.
Memphis was followed by a successful international career and five albums: the Porin Award-nominated Licence to Blues (2011), 10 Postcards from a Far Coast (2016), which was awarded by Fender Mega Music Click Play (2017), The Bridges (2020) and 27 Stitches (2023). Sunnysiders are on a promotional tour for the album 27 Stitches and have played festivals in Germany, Switzerland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bosnia and Slovenia.
Stone Head define themselves as “dynamic rock’n’blues” with distinctive guitar riffs, emotional vocals and energetic rhythms, drawing inspiration from the blues tradition and adding a modern and fresh touch to it. Not long ago, they also released their first single “Dej Povej Mi”. The song touches on the ever-current topic of self-image. Do we like ourselves? Are we pretty enough? Are we pretty enough in the mirror for other people?

On the day of the concert, tickets can be purchased at the Entrance Pavilion and the lower funicular station until 8.45 pm. The concert ticket includes a return journey on the funicular, which operates until 11.00 pm on the day of the concert.
