The Ljubljana Castle Jazz Club: Wacky Blues Professors

The Wacky Blues Professors are a young group that, even before the release of its first album, launched itself into the first league of the Slovenian music scene. The album Family was released in March 2016, followed by sold-out concerts at Kino Šiška and Križanke. This year, the band has released a double live album entitled Križanke, and they are planning a new studio record in early 2018.

The Wacky Blues Professors deliver blues rock in their own distinctive, eclectic style, which is the result of various influences. Julijan Erič draws from the blues and rock tradition of the 1960s, his brother Miha Erič from blues and country, Miha Žinger Ribarić from funk, rap and metal, and Zlatko Đogić from soul and rock’n’roll. The musicians themselves often say that their music is trance, a kind of meditation that arises through careful listening and improvisation. As they dynamically rise to a peak, just when you have the feeling that they can’t go any further, they raise the energy level even higher.

The Ljubljana Castle Jazz Club is open from 8.00 pm to 12:30 am. Live music commences at 9.00 pm.

On the evening of the concert, the Entry Pavilion will operate until 23.30 pm and the funicular until 1.00 am.
