CANCELLATIONS
If a film screening is cancelled due to rain or a bad weather forecast, information about the cancellation will be published on the websites www.ljubljanskigrad.si and www.kinodvor.org by 7 pm on the day of the scheduled screening. A replacement screening will take place the following day at 9 pm at Kinodvor. If an Avant Premiere or Premiere is cancelled, there will be two replacement screenings the following day at Kinodvor.
Tickets for a cancelled screening can be exchanged for: - tickets for the replacement screening at Kinodvor: available at the Kinodvor box office until the seating capacities are filled (the number of seats at Kinodvor is considerably lower than in the castle courtyard); - tickets for another screening at Film under the Stars (except for the Premiere or Avant Premieres): to be exchanged at the box office of the entrance pavilion at the Ljubljana Castle and the lower funicular station. Tickets for a cancelled Premiere or Avant Premiere can only be exchanged for tickets for another Premiere or Avant Premiere; - cash refund to be collected at the point of purchase by September 6th 2026. After this date, tickets cannot be refunded.
ACCESS TO THE CASTLE
With the slogan LET'S GO UNDER THE STARS, we invite guests to use one of the sustainable ways of getting to the castle, namely: - a ride on the funicular railway - travelling on the shuttle (circular ride)
Sports enthusiasts can also test their mettle by cycling to the castle, while those who like evening walks can take a stroll on one of the footpaths leading to the castle.
We recommend that when purchasing a ticket for a film of your choice, you also choose to buy a funicular or shuttle ticket at a reduced price of €4.50. You get to decide on the spot which transport to choose depending on the level of occupancy of the funicular and the shuttle. You may also buy a one-way ticket at a reduced price of €2.30.
This special ticket price is only available online when purchasing a Film Under the Stars ticket at the same time. It can be purchased at the ticket offices of the lower funicular station and the Entry Pavilion in front of the castle entrance at any time between 09:00 and 21:30.
For cars, Ljubljana Castle has a public paid car park with only 40 parking spaces, one of which is reserved for persons with reduced mobility.
Parking on the road leading to the castle (Cesta slovenskih kmečkih uporov) is not permitted. The pavement is only for visitors arriving on foot, not for car parking. This is to ensure the safe arrival and departure of all visitors to Film Under the Stars.
Shuttle stop
The shuttle stop for getting to Ljubljana Castle is at the Krekov trg, near funicular railway. When leaving the castle, buses depart from the Ljubljana Castle car park.
Timetable: - the funicular operates continuously for 30 minutes after the end of the film, - bus:
o journeys to the castle: from 20:00 to 21:15 every 10 minutes o journeys from the castle: 30 minutes after the end of the event
