Save time and money by purchasing your tickets online. You will also avoid the queue at the box office. We recommend purchasing your tickets at least one day before your planned visit.
Dogs may be taken on the funicular railway and may enter the Castle Courtyard providing they are on a leash and wearing a muzzle, but they are not permitted inside the castle buildings.
The following persons are eligible for free tickets:
children under 7 years of age accompanied by their parents (not applicable for organised groups such as kindergartens, schools, etc.);
persons with mobility impairments accompanied by an attendant, and persons with special needs (not applicable for guided tours, Escape Castle, audioguides and organised groups that have a 50 percent discount on the ticket price).
The fee for using the toilets at the Ljubljana Castle is €1.00/person. This fee can be redeemed as a voucher at the Friderik Castle Shop.
The Ljubljana Castle is a monument of cultural significance. If you wish to use the exterior of the castle for filming or photography for commercial purposes, you must obtain prior consent from the Ljubljana Castle Public Institute and pay a fee of €300.00 (filming/photographing for up to 3 hours) or €800.00 (filming/photographing for 3–12 hours). VAT is not included in the price.
