Since its first edition in 2008, the Godibodi festival of contemporary original and ethnic music has been a synonym for quality music and a complete concert experience that constantly opens up space for fresh and not yet established Slovenian music. Over the past years, this unique musical project has been guided by the versatile musician and artistic director of the festival Janez Dovč and produced by the Ljubljana Castle. During this time, it has brought together many top Slovenian musicians.
This year’s sixteenth edition of the festival will take place in the first days of June with concerts by the following bands: Vsa and Kristijan Krajnčan, Barfolk, Ědna, Vudlenderji, Jani Hace and guests, Leopold I. and Drügi

The third day of the festival will feature two bands: Jani Hace and guests, Leopold I. and Drügi

Jani Hace reacted completely instinctively to participating in the festival Godibodi. His first idea was to encapsulate and round out his collaboration with certain female vocalists with whom he has created quite a lot of music in the past. From this idea, a mini-concept developed that dictates a minimal line-up and tries to present the compositions in minimalist or stripped down versions. On this occasion, the bass guitar, with a few additions, will be almost the only instrument and will serve as the orchestral accompaniment for Jadranka Juras, Lara Love and Alenka Godec. Jani’s daughter Izabela will join the ensemble on the violin for some of the compositions, while the renowned percussionist Blaž Celarec will accompany the vocalists on percussion.

Musicians:
Alenka Godec – vocals
Jadranka Juras – vocals
Lara Love – vocals
Izabela Hace – violin
Blaž Celarec – percussion
Jani Hace – bass guitar

Leopold I. is a mouthy figure from Radgona who portrays the common man in his lyrics. He pulls back the curtains on the fluorescent facades of neat country houses and peeks into the plates of seemingly perfect families after Sunday mass. He is accompanied by a group of seasoned musicians on their well-honed instruments.

Musicians:
Michael Leopold (vocals)
Filip Vadnu (guitar)
Vid Turica (bass)
Žan Hauptman (keyboards, vocals)
Žiga Smrdel (drums)
