Since its first edition in 2008, the festival of contemporary original and ethno music Godibodi has been synonymous with quality music and a complete concert experience, continuously opening the space to fresh and not yet established Slovenian music. Under the baton of the artistic director of the festival, versatile musician Janez Dovč, and produced by the Ljubljana Castle, this unique music project has connected many top Slovenian musicians in recent years.

This year’s fifteenth edition of the festival will take place in the first days of Junewith concerts by the following groups: Popevke in Pravljice with Klara Veteršek and Urška Supej, AKA Neomi, Zajtrk, Noreia with Jani Kovačič, Toj’To and Jazoo.

Two groups will perform on the third day of the festival: Toj’To, JAZOO

Toj’to was formed in 2019, when it recorded material at the Metro Studio for its debut EP Dobri ljudje, whose five tracks reveal the influence of jazz, fusion, so-called world music and blues. It is a band with music and a band in which experience and youth meet. After the completion of postproduction, the release of the EP was postponed due to the pandemic crisis until the winter of 2021, by which time the title song Dobri ljudje had already started appearing in the media. However, the project and the band will really come to life at the Godibodi festival, where, in addition to the songs already recorded, they will present several others as well.

Musicians
Miklavž Miki Ašič – vocals, bass guitar, keyboards
Janez Jani Kovačič – vocals, harmonica, percussion
Matic Ašič – guitar
Sergej RunJoe Ranđelović – vocals, drums
Boris Romih – percussion, arranger
and special guest Lado Jakša  - keyboards, vocals

JAZOO is relentless – it works 25/7! In the last two years, which in many respects represent a turning point for the band, JAZOO has almost surpassed itself: the musicians recorded three live videos; on their third attempt, they successfully executed the LandEscapes project (a morning concert at sunrise on the 1,700 m high mountain Uršlja gora); they celebrated their 25th anniversary with a major concert with guests in their home town of Slovenj Gradec; and they released their 7th original album, entitled 25/7. The band marked the digital release of the album and its new songs at the end of last year, when, again with guests, they performed at the festival Jazz Ravne. The guests raise the music of JAZOO to even higher levels. By inviting a guitarist and a brass section, an extra dimension and new breadth is added to the music. The almost ten-piece band, consisting mostly of musicians from the Koroška region, will also perform at the Godibodi festival in June, where they will present some new songs from their new album, as well as other songs from the last 25 years. For the band JAZOO, the concert means a repeat of the promotion marking the release of the last album, the opening of the 2022/23 concert season, and a continuation of the celebration of their auspicious jubilee. There are few bands that, after 25 years of continuous operation, still dare to explore sonic possibilities and remain experimentally oriented, but always within the boundaries of listenable ethno jazz, where we can definitely place JAZOO. At the Godibodi festival, we can therefore expect some new songs, which the band will perform with guests.
