Katalena

At the Ljubljana Castle, as an introduction to summer, we have prepared two concerts and two dance evenings under a starry sky, in the embrace of the Castle Courtyard. We will begin with a concert by one of this year’s winners of the Prešeren Fund Prize, Boštjan Gombač, who, with his fresh band Gombač & Kradljivci časa, will give the premiere presentation of his first solo album. The summer atmosphere will continue the next day with a major concert by the popular band Katalena, of which Boštjan Gombač is also a member.

The concerts will be followed by two dance evenings. At the first, accompanied by the band Cubismo, you will dance to the Latin rhythms of the salsa, the rumba, the cha-cha-cha, etc.  The musical guest of the second dance evening will be Davor Radolfi.

The castle summer nights will take place between 21 and 24 June 2017.

Katalena

On 22 June 2017, the group Katalena will be sixteen years old. Almost – there will be just one more week until its birthday. The concert at the Ljubljana Castle will not, however, be a celebration of this anniversary – it is supposedly not permitted to celebrate anniversaries in advance. Instead, it will be a great opportunity to look back to the past and towards the future of the creativity of this group, for whom the Castle Courtyard is a favourite venue. The concert programme will review all six of the previously released albums, as well as offering a coy preview of the forthcoming album. Above all, the evening will be a pleasant musical gathering in a picturesque location, and Katalena’s forecast of a long summer.
