Wiyaala is a multi-award winning independent artist from Funsi in the Upper West Region of Ghana and she is one of the biggest rising stars on the African music scene. An irrepressible extrovert since childhood, Wiyaala is a performer who never fails to excite and inspire. In 2014, Wiyaala became the first Ghanaian artist to record and release music in the Sissala language of Northern Ghana. Wiyaala has received plaudits from WOMAD UK, The Commonwealth Games 2018, The African Union and numerous festivals throughout Europe after impressing BBC broadcaster Rita Ray on the BBC World Service’s “Global Beats” programme in 2014. Her latest achievement; being welcomed into GRAMMYS 2022 New member class. Her music references West African Folk traditions and contemporary Afro-Pop, sometimes drawing comparisons with Osibisa and Angelique Kidjo. For her European tour in 2019, which began in Ljubljana, Wiyaala connected with some of the best musicians from Cuba/Slovenia and formed The YagaYaga Project giving her music a new dimension, also drawing on the so-called Afro-American fusion.
Together they performed at numerous Festivals across Europe, including Welcome To The Village (Netherlands), Riddu Riddu (Norway) and Afro Pfingsten (Switzerland).

Admission: €9.00
Ticket sales: sale points at the Ljubljana Castle, Hostel Celica reception, the lower funicular station, www.ljubljanskigrad.si and all www.mojekarte.si sales points (including Petrol service stations, Kompas offices through Slovenia etc.).
On the day of the concert, tickets can be purchased at the Entrance Pavilion and the lower funicular station until 8.45 pm. The concert ticket includes a return journey on the funicular, which operates until 11.00 pm on the day of the concert.
