Practical information

Before visiting the Ljubljana Castle, you may find the information below helpful.

On foot to the Castle Courtyard: Visitors are not permitted to enter the area of the Castle Courtyard on bicycles, rollerblades or scooters. These can be left in front of the walls in the parking area.

Storing items: Pushchairs can be left in the space by the entrance to the Museum of Puppetry, and smaller pieces of luggage can be stored in the lockers with a key at the same location. We advise you to keep valuables with you at all times and not to leave them unattended, as the Ljubljana Castle is not responsible for any loss of items.

Charging station for mobile phones: you can charge your mobile phone or tablet in the area by the entrance to the Museum of Puppetry. It’s easy, free and safe: just connect your mobile phone, select your 4-digit code and while your mobile phone is being charged you can continue exploring the castle.

Drinking water: At the Ljubljana Castle, fresh drinking water is freely available from drinking fountains located in the Castle Courtyard and in the Castle Park, by the well.

Drone videos and photography: Taking photos or shooting videos using drones is strictly prohibited in the area of the Ljubljana Castle and the Castle Park, unless a permit has been obtained from the Civil Aviation Agency and approved by the Ljubljana Castle Institute.
